어린이와 청소년들을 건축교육은 외국에서 건조환경교육(Built Environment Education)으로 널리 보급되어 있다.
☞핀란드 기초건축교육
1993년에국가적인 교육 프로그램에 포함
Arkki: 핀란드의 어린이와 청소년을 위한 건축학교(1994년설립)
☞영국의 기초건축교육
2000년에 법정교과서인 “디자인과 건축”/ “삶에서의 건축”
(선택과목)을 통해 5~15세의 유아 및 청소년에게 공간교육
☞ 미국의 기초건축교육
지역중심의 기초건축교육
1991년 뉴욕시정규교과과목에 “디자인을 통한 배움”도입
